They initially met in the 2007 flashback episode, I assume they began a relationship just after that considering the moment in season 5 when Diane is talking to Pickles about how PB loves with his whole heart she explicitly mentions him loving her that way for over a decade, so from 2007-2018. She is not excited to see him either, but explains that his heroic deeds have intrigued someone she works for and that she now has an opportunity for him: she asks if he wants to be the governor. Diane says she wants to go to the Labrador Peninsula to spend New Years with his family, much to Mr. Peanutbutter's excitement. When she changes her mind, he agrees to make Pickles her favorite drink. Mr. Peanutbutter tries to tell her the truth about him cheating on her with Diane, but instead, he proposes to her. BoJack explains that the letter is from Hollyhock and he can't open it because he's afraid she'll tell him she never wants to speak to him or see him again. BoJack says he doesn't know just that something bad will happen. BoJack says he's aware. Out of the five main characters, he is the only one whos parents were never seen and who's childhood/teen years via flashbacks were never shown: However, his parents have been mentioned and confirmed to have died years previous to the series. Despite his happy-go-lucky demeanor, there are traces of nihilism in him, believing "the key to being happy is to just distract yourself with unimportant nonsense until you eventually die.". Joey then reveals himself to be hanging by a clothes hanger inside the hotel room closet, giving Mr. Peanutbutter an idea. Mr. Peanutbutter goes into the bar. Diane apologizes saying she didn't realize she was doing that. Mr. Peanutbutter announces the nominees and he and Todd flee back to his house. Mr. Peanutbutter says she didn't, and that he loves her and wants to know the real her. She walks into the bathroom to talk to Pickles. Mr. Peanutbutter, the star of Mr. Peanutbutter's House, is an adult male yellow Labrador Retriever, who is BoJack Horseman's friend and former sitcom rival. Max tells him Pickles flirts with Joey and follows him across the restaurant. He can also be described as a "man-child," as he is around BoJack's age but still acts like a twenty-something-year-old party animal. Mr. Peanutbutter says he needs a drink and asks if there is a bar. Princess Carolyn reminds him of this. BoJack's rude dismissal of Diane unwittingly triggered a long term realization within Diane about her relationship with Mr. Peanutbutter. Mr. Peanutbutter tells Pickles that that's just Diane and that she's no fun. Mr. Peanutbutter then gets back in the car and BoJack tells him he wants to go back to prison as he doesn't feel like he can be around people. The two layouts on the pool, as it is filled with green Jell-O. He is five years younger than BoJack, despite looking much younger. As he approaches Mr. Peanutbutter and Princess Carolyn, Princess Carolyn pushes Mr. Peanutbutter in front of Joeys car, and Mr. Peanutbutter is left slightly puzzled when he doesnt get hit by Joeys slow-moving car. Sure, Mr. Peanutbutter doesn't always "get" things - like why fracking is bad for the world, even if a giant drill sounds cool. Stefani then emphasizes that Mr. Peanutbutter will probably not listen to Diane, as usual, and that as much as they love each other, he still would never understand her opinion on the matter while she could have actual people read about her thoughts. Mr. Peanutbutter says he could proposition some young men on set. He tells Sassy to get dressed so they can get to the bottom of this because this times it's "personnel.". Mr. Peanutbutter goes to see his agent, Ronnie Bonito, although after waiting outside all day he goes into his office to find Ronnie has accidentally died from auto-erotic asphyxiation. Pickles is hungover and sitting in the bathtub. BoJack takes a selfie outside of the Capital building and posts it on Instagram, and the first comment is from Mr. Peanutbutter telling him to turn around. Mr. Peanutbutter says that hes not sad hes happy and everybody knows that. When Princess Carolyn questions Mr. Peanutbutter about his reputation, he says that hes not worried about it as he believes that people generally want to like him, and the universe will align in his favor. Mr. Peanutbutter and Pickles get hungry, but Pickles says that restaurants are a date thing. In short, he is "a dog seen from the point of view of a cat person." Around this time, he was married to a woman named Katrina. Mr. Peanutbutter tells the driver to change the station but tells her to go back to the podcast when he alternative announces they'll be playing a new song from Twenty One Pilots. Mr. Peanutbutter guesses time flies when you're having fun. However, he specifies BoJack should bring it up only if the interview is going well. However, to her displeasure, as she hates big gestures, he threw her a surprise birthday party. Mr. Peanutbutter says he thought she loved Joey. Joey tells her that's exactly right and she totally gets him. Diane suggests he hire a personal driver, and he shortly thereafter catches Todd in the act of planting unspecified incriminating evidence in his computer as part of BoJack's plan. He tells her to not turn around, but she ends up seeing the mummy and is horrified. Mr. Peanutbutter and Diane arrive at her apartment. Princess Carolyn tells him that she needs to get home to her new baby and Mr. Peanutbutter congratulates her on the new baby saying that it could be a movie idea, but Princess Carolyn leaves anyway. In A Horse Walks Into Rehab, Princess Carolyn then gets a call from Mr. Peanutbutter. BoJack doesn't have a costume so asks Princess Carolyn for help. When Mr. Peanutbutter is told she had to endear that for half an hour, he cheerfully says "I guess time flies when youre having fun!," which finally makes Katrina snap and she angrily shouts "I am not having fun!" She nervously sings the theme song. An example of the latter trait is in Higher Love when Mr. Peanutbutter assumes if he just walks around Los Angeles a job opportunity will just simply come to him, and cheerfully ignores the fact he and Diane may lose their house as PB Livin' went bankrupt. Audrey then approaches Mr. Peanutbutter and asks if he wants some tea. He threw the party for himself. All the while Diane forced herself to pretend to support her husband. After Princess Carolyn gets her out of her funk and hires her at her new agency for a Celebrity Tweet ghostwriter, Diane goes to the restaurant Elefante to meet with Sextina Aquafina, one of her new clients. This causes him to crack jokes that instead of being funny, just make people around him scratch their heads. A bitter Katrina tells him while he was gone, Ben Stein introduced her to Tim Allen. Diane then says they are all trying their best. On Mr. Peanutbutter's House, he wore a dark blue collared button-down shirt with a 90s-esque geometric yellow, purple, and teal pattern on it, light blue jeans, brown belt, and white sneakers with Velcro straps. Diane angrily tells him he didn't trust that she knew something, and he says he just wanted to double-check anyway. She then publishes her article, which leads to the two throwing and breaking their computers and coffee mugs, and Mr. Peanutbutter pins Diane to the wall as the two struggle against one another. Eventually, he goes back to the upstairs bedroom not noticing BoJack, Ruthie, Princess Carolyn or Diane, and asks Pickles if she wants whip cream with her drink, not realizing that Pickles was actually in the bathroom and wearing headphones. Mr. Peanutbutter says he wants them to be even somehow. He goes on to say they want to help him share his story with the world much Mr. Peanutbutters surprise. Unfortunately, the rhino doesn't get mad at Mr. Peanutbutter, but thanks him for getting him to stop smoking. BoJack suspects this is the direct result of Todd enacting revenge for BoJack's sabotage of Todd's rock opera. When Pickles said she doesnt want to be mad at him, Mr. Peanutbutter begins to say something but he stops himself and lets Pickles continue. This somehow works, and he ends up working at a Lady FootLocker until he is approached by Princess Carolyn gets him a job for author J.D. At some point, Todd planned to surprise Pickles and Mr. Peanutbutter with a surprise wedding, and he sends them out of the house for six hours to watch a play. Mr. Peanutbutter goes on to say even if he had his assistance it wouldnt be of much use because his representatives assistants went on strike as well. This almost jeopardized Mr. Peanutbutter's job, as he and Hank both work at MBN, he even looked up to Hank growing up, and he started receiving death threats for Diane. Age-Gap Romance: There is an 11 year age gap between her and Mr. Peanutbutter, her boyfriend and later husband. This angers Mr. Peanutbutter and he interrupts the show to have BoJack sit across from him as he confronts him about kissing Diane. He cheerfully says, "I like that guy!". BoJack is deflated, but Mr. Peanutbutter accidentally mentions afterward Todd's desire to not nominate BoJack and ends the conversation by promising him "none of this matters" and leaving. In reality, he's actually on the Philbert set. He tells her they'll talk about this when she comes home. We learn valuable lessons through their antics, and they remind us how imperfect we are as humans and how heavily our own thoughts can affect us. BoJack tried to protest the scene to Flip, saying if he's trying to get back at him for criticizing the script he shouldn't also punish Gina in the process. After Woodchuck says during a press conference that if a state senator was willing to actually petition for an amendment to the constitution that would democratically allow him to bid his governor title on a ski race, then he would accept the challenge. Mr. Peanutbutter decided to wander around L.A. in the hope that an opportunity will be handed to him, as most things were just handed to him for little or no work. Showing he isn't oblivious to how BoJack treats him, he questions why BoJack doesn't like him. Princess Carolyn prepares to calls a cleaning service, while Todd and Mr. Peanutbutter take care of their foul-smelling clothes. Flip yells cut and tells Mr. Peanutbutter that's what real strangling looks like. As Woodchuck is an experienced skier, Mr. Peanutbutter loses the race. BoJack admits it's because he's jealous that Mr. Peanutbutter feels good about himself, and BoJack doesn't know if he'll ever be able to do that. BoJack explains these are the clothes he went in with and didn't realize he would be going to a wedding in a year. Princess Carolyn, at first, assumes he needs a body buried; which initially shocks Mr. Peanutbutter. Mr. Peanutbutter questions if he thought Princess Carolyn would marry BoJack. In BoJack Kills Diane heads outside for a smoke break before they leave. Sometime later that same day, Mr. Peanutbutter is filming a scene of Birthday Dad, with his costar Melodie. He goes on to say you think you are protecting them, but it comes out in other ways, and it infects everything. It's only natural for Dianne and Peanutbutter to drift apart. Mr. Peanutbutter remains downstairs trying to get himself a glass of water while at the same time not noticing Princess Carolyn and Todd crawling around his kitchen floor with Ruthie. When she walks away, he swallows a couple of his painkillers for his back and says this party sucks. Their meeting goes well, but Stefani asks Diane if she'd ever be willing to write an article against Mr. Peanutbutter in the event that he does something problematic, in which Diane replies that she wouldn't write an article, she would talk directly with her husband. Jessica yells at Mr. Peanutbutter for not keeping the mummy away, while also revealing she auditioned to play the actual mummy as she storms off. Mr. Peanutbutter convinces her to stay home for the time being. BoJack asks if Mr. Peanutbutter is seeing anyone to which Mr. Peanutbutter replies he's busy with his show and wants to focus on himself right now. He approaches a rhino smoking a cigarette and tries to get in his face, and he tries his cigarette away. When they enter the house, Pickles tries to turn on the lights by yelling Lights On!," but before she can, Mr. Peanutbutter interrupts her and tells her that what hes about to confess is so shameful he can only do it under the cover of shadow. He tells her is just distracted as he feels lonely in his big house after Pickles left. Mr. Peanutbutter answers the door and enthusiastically says that BoJack can live with him forever. Todd and Emily pitch "Cabracadabra," a rideshare app that provides a safe space for women, to Mr. Peanutbutter in Stop the Presses. Animation Comedy Drama Diane divorces Mr. Peanutbutter and moves into a shabby studio. Upon learning of this, BoJack decides to hire Character Actress Margo Martindale to stage a bank robbery to steal Diane's engagement ring when she and Mr. Peanutbutter are set to go to the bank, hoping to cause a rift between them by taking away a symbol of their relationship. Mr. Peanutbutter believes him, although the two eventually engaged in a competition of one-upmanship to see who can impress Diane more. She cheerfully says it's fine, but starts to sound upset when she talks about his ex-wives and how Diane is here. Mr. Peanutbutter and Diane split up. Mr. Peanutbutter asks when he's getting out for real and BoJack responds that it'll be a few months. Back in the car, BoJack asks if Mr. Peanutbutter thinks Diane is going to be there to which Mr. Peanutbutter replies that everyone will be there seeing that it's the party of the year. His wife, Jessica Biel, tells him she meant the movie The Notebook, as she's dressed like Rachel McAdam's character, Allie Hamilton, from the movie. Whereas in other relationships she felt like she was "her" in a relationship. Mr. Peanutbutter then says he went to college in Chicago and Diane tells him Northwestern is not in Chicago. In a flashback from 2009, Mr. Peanutbutter is getting ready to go to BoJack's Halloween party with his girlfriend, Diane. However, Todd begins to suggest ideas to Quentin Tarantulino, and is reciprocated due to Tarantulino's eccentricity. Mr. Peanutbutter says he wants every day to be a happy one because they don't have many days left. Just then, Mr. Peanutbutter interrupts them. The news announces that they need a company with lots of pasta strainers, a fleet of cars, and sexy Orcas to help save the underwater city. They are wearing matching costumes inspired by a new social media app called "Tweed Feed," which are tweed outfits with dinner plates, silverware, and plastic food taped to them. She throws her engagement ring back at Mr. Peanutbutter, yelling "unsubscribe!" Mr. Peanutbutter goes to WhatTimeIsItRightNow, telling Todd, that Hollywoo producers don't think he's tough enough. Mr. Peanutbutter asks if she wants to leave, but she says no, insisting she's fun. Besides his love for tennis balls, he hates the game tennis because he gets angry at how nobody ever catches the ball. Todd takes Mr. Peanutbutter to the baddest bar in Hollywoo, where the paparazzi birds are waiting outside. In between takes, Mr. Peanutbutter remarks how much fun they are having filming together. In the same season, he plays Fritz on Philbert, and he begins dating a young female pug named Pickles Aplenty. She asks Mr. Peanutbutter if that makes sense and he says it does. Feeling melancholy, she travels to Vietnam to get away from it all. Pickles and Joey come to Mr. Peanutbutter's table and they announce that they have developed feelings for each other and are now going to make love. Mr. Peanutbutter asks what his plans are once he gets out. Better yet. Mr. Peanutbutter naively believes Todd is actually there to apply to be his personal driver and hires Todd after an impromptu interview. Mr. Peanutbutter tells her other than being away from her he is having the time of his life being depressed. While playing with his coin sorter, Mr. Peanutbutter says he wishes he can throw his problems in the coin sorter, and have it sorted all out for him. Meanwhile, Todd calls Mr. Peanutbutter again and tells him that his idea to start including male customers was a success, loving the safe spaces for women more than the women themselves. BoJack finds this annoying and always shoots Mr. Peanutbutter down, although that never stops Mr. Peanutbutter from trying to befriend BoJack. I'm asking because i can't really imagine any other way. SUB, Mr. Peanutbutter, or "Mr. Chocolate Hazelnut Spread," offers his condolences to BoJack. In The Stopped Show, Mr. Peanutbutter goes to visit Diane, wanting to talk about how they had sex after the Philbert premier. Before ending the call, Diane makes Mr. Peanutbutter promise not to bother their skunk neighbor, stating that she doesn't want to deal with a stinky husband when she returns home. Mr. Peanutbutter assures her he'll never leave her alone again, but Katrina storms off saying she wants to be alone now and tells him to have fun with his hippie liberal friends. He goes outside where his wife Katrina, who's dressed as Blossom, is very cheerful and happily married to him. He tells Diane that he keeps taking amazing women and ruining them. Outside, Mr. Peanutbutter runs into Princess Carolyn and Judah and tells them sadly he is giving away Pickles' favorite alcoholic energy drink seeing that he doesn't need it anymore, as Pickles no longer lives with him.
